Joe is a native Arizonan—born in Chandler, he grew up in north Phoenix, attending Black Mountain Elementary School, Anthem School, and Boulder Creek High School. He graduated summa cum laude as a Dean's Medalist from Arizona State University's Barrett, the Honors College, where he studied business management and civic and economic thought and leadership.
His career spans the Arizona Chamber of Commerce, the American Enterprise Institute, and the Postsecondary Commission, a higher education start-up. He currently serves as Co-Founder, Chairman of the Board, and CEO of the 1912 Institute, an organization dedicated to making Arizona the best place in the world to live, work, and raise a family. He routinely publishes in outlets including National Review, The Dispatch, CNN, and the Western Tribune.
